Depot Move

The depot was successfully moved from its original location to its new home across the street on the Q-block on January 6, 2016.

Sliding the Depot Over the Foundation

A day after the depot was moved across the street to its new home, it was carefully rolled back over the excavated hole of the new foundation/basement; two close-up photos show the wheels on the steel beam that allowed it to be moved backward.

Elevation benchmark disc

Once the depot was moved, the brass elevation benchmark disc on the west side of the depot was no longer valid. The Northern Plains regional advisor from the National Geodetic Survey inspected the new site and officially decommissioned the elevation disc. He later sent a new disc to be installed at a suitable location on the new site and indicated a new name should be submitted to them for approval (he suggested “Depot”).
